Lower Diamond trail, Connemara.

Visiting the Mighty Connemara, Ireland: video that speaks to the awe you will feel.

Ok, I can be a bit goofy, but it is also the joy of being amidst such beauty. Who wouldn’t hug a rock?

This was the height of the Lower Diamond walk in the National Park. #connemera; the Upper Diamond is a lot longer, more dramatic, worth every step.

There are a thousand reasons why the Connemara National Park and region are so legendary. The haunting views. The boggy-laden ground that goes on forever. The lonely hikes and walks in the shadow ominous, bulging mountains. The contrast of greens, browns and the blue of the sky as it battles for dominance wit the constant shifting clouds. Then the sun breaks through and you catch your breath.

Connemara National Park: try and go off-season; the bumper months are best because it is one of the two most popular parks in Ireland (Kerry National being the other). Of course, it is a must-see anytime you are near that part of Ireland.

Leaving the Connemara National Park, take a right, you’re heading to Westport.

So, take a left and get back to N59. Take it to R336, go right at Linaun and…well, If you want to add more jaw-dropping amazement to your road trip, take a right at the end of 366 and go to R344 and do a loop back to N59 which will get you to any town: Clifden, Letterfrack, Westport, Galway.

If you can describe the awe you feel, please share it, drop me a note.

Land…scape.

A boggy landscape…you wouldn’t want to walk in it, and watch your boots sink into the muck.

As you head around the loch to Leenaun, you see the fish farms. Oh, yeah, and a rainbow. Ireland is the land of the Random Rainbows.
