My first memories of Ireland are being sent to the heath to look for 4-leaf clovers while my mother and sisters watched the Dublin Horse Show. I found one.
Ireland is resplendent with natural beauty. But Ireland is a country where the beauty extends into the souls of the people, who seem to have a visceral connection with the land. For all their humor, ribald nature, smiles and kindness — all real — it is a joy backed by the shadows of so much historical, almost genetic-level pain. As a tourist, they are kind and you will see the joy.
It has been a great year for travel and exploration. But I am way behind on my posts. I have been to Ireland, specifically Kenmare, County Kerry area four times. Northern California. Traversed Northern Spain from Bilbao to San Sebastian to Pamplona, Logrono, Zaragotha, and last, Barcelona – have to get to those experiences.
If you look from a calendar perspective, this time in fall 2023, I visited Ireland, Amsterdam and Paris.
Have no doubt, I know that I am blessed and more fortunate than so many. But traveling can have so many magic moments if you put yourself out there. In fact, my posts have shifted from “reviews” to more Human experiences. So many tales litter the road of our life. Thank you for reading.
